12 Step Eating Disorder Recovery
A 12 Step approach to recovering from an eating disorder isn't particularly common, however, it is so successful. For many, eating disorders involve an external effort such as overeating or losing weight. These attempts to fill a hole in our lives with something external cause us to enter a dangerous and disordered cycle. Unlike other recovery programmes that aim to prevent the behaviours solely, a 12 Step approach allows you to fill the hole you're are trying to fill with spirituality and thus lose the need to enter into that cycle.
Are you male and looking for support?
It can be even harder to access support services for eating disorders when you are male. The stigma just isn't in your favour. Below are some resources you may find useful.
